01Agreement

By creating an account or using Brainbox ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. The Service is operated by CIF AI Holdings Limited (company no. PVT-L51DY5MR), a private limited company incorporated in the Republic of Kenya, trading as thexi.dev ("we", "us", "our").

02The Service

Brainbox provides a private, per-tenant memory workspace you can reach via a browser login and via machine/agent access. The Service is currently in early access / invite-only and is evolving; features may change.

03Your account

• Provide a valid email and keep your credentials secure.
• Each account is bound to exactly one tenant — your isolated brain.
• You're responsible for activity under your account, including any agents you authorise.

04Your content

• You own your data. You keep all rights to what you store; we claim no ownership of it.
• You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process, and back up your data to run the Service for you.
• You're responsible for the lawfulness of what you store.

05Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law; store or distribute unlawful content; attempt to access another tenant's data; probe, overload, or disrupt the infrastructure; or resell the Service without our agreement. Fair-use quotas apply per tenant; sustained excess may be rate-limited.

06Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and may change, suspend, or discontinue features.

07Backups & data loss

We schedule nightly snapshots to encrypted object storage with a 14-day retention target; cleanup follows successful exports and can be delayed by failures. See the Privacy Policy. The dashboard lets you download your workspace’s latest published snapshot and shows its completion date; later changes are not included. This snapshot is not a complete account export. You can request an account export through [email protected]. We work hard to protect your brain, but you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of anything critical. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for data loss.

08Fees

Brainbox is currently free / invite-only. Paid plans may be introduced later; we'll give you notice before any charge applies.

09Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or threaten the Service or other tenants. On termination, we delete your brain as described in the Privacy Policy.

10Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim (currently zero for free accounts).

11Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. We'll update the date above and notify you of material changes.

12Governing law & data protection

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, and disputes are subject to the courts of Kenya. We process personal data in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 — see the Privacy Policy for your rights and our safeguards.
